Asking JBR Moving Team for a number or locking in a booking means you accept the terms below. They apply to this website and to the moving, packing, and storage services our crew performs as a Virginia-registered, insured household-goods carrier operating out of Virginia Beach.
Where we operate
Our territory covers Virginia Beach and the surrounding Hampton Roads communities: Kempsville, Great Neck, Lynnhaven, Red Mill, Bayside, Princess Anne, Sandbridge, and Croatan, along with long-distance jobs on I-64 and I-95. Everyone who touches your shipment works directly for JBR Moving Team; we never place your job with an independent driver or an outside broker.
Building your quote
Kayla builds your written figure from what you tell her: the two addresses, a tunnel crossing or PCS report date if one applies, stairs or narrow access, beach-lane or HOA restrictions, a rough inventory, and your preferred date. That figure holds for a job matching what you described, and no toll, mileage, or fuel charge gets layered on top anywhere inside Hampton Roads. Telling us about your move doesn’t reserve a date by itself, a date is reserved once our office sends written confirmation.
If the job on-site doesn’t match the quote
Occasionally a property looks different in person than it did over the phone: more furniture, a rougher lane, or a different address entirely. When that happens, the crew walks you through a revised number and gets your approval before touching anything further. Outside of that scenario, the number you were quoted is the number you owe.
Rescheduling
Whoever confirms a date first gets it, regardless of who called first. If your plans shift, let us know as soon as possible so somebody else on the schedule can take that slot. Deposit amounts and cancellation terms specific to your move are spelled out on your signed agreement.
What we ask of you
- Give us an honest picture of the job, including room count and anything heavy or oversized
- Flag tunnel access, PCS timing, stairs, and fragile items before the crew shows up
- Handle any HOA, property-management, or base housing approvals that fall outside what our office arranges directly
- Keep walkways and doorways clear on both ends so the crew can move efficiently
Valuation and claims
How much your belongings are covered for depends on the valuation level you pick and on federal moving regulations. Basic released-value coverage comes with every job at no charge and pays sixty cents per pound, per item. Full-value protection costs one to three percent of your declared shipment value and adds cargo coverage up to one million dollars. Any claim needs to be filed in writing, generally within nine months of delivery for a shipment that crosses state lines.
